TINY HOUSE PROJECT

Dean Homes Inc. is committed to giving back to our local community by dedicating time, materials, and money to a variety of organizations and causes.  We’re currently working in conjunction with the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) to build Tiny Houses for Seattle encampment shelters using mostly surplus materials from our job sites.

A Tiny House offers safety and security as well as protection from the elements for those experiencing homelessness.  Each Tiny House measures 8 feet by 12 feet, has windows, a locking door, and electricity.  Dean Homes’ team of volunteers was proud to donate our first Tiny House to a family in Seattle’s Licton Springs Village.

rampathon

We participate in the annual Rampathon event organized by the Master Builders Association to build access ramps for people with limited mobility.  The ramps are designed for each specific location per MBA guidelines to provide a safe and easily accessible entrance to the home.  Our team of volunteers has enjoyed the friendship and comradery cultivated with the families during these projects.

PAINTING A BETTER TOMORROW

Our team members also donate time to another Master Builders Association program, Painting A Better Tomorrow.  This one day event brings people from multiple organizations together to supply paint, tools, and volunteers to breathe new life in to a select community space with a fresh coat of paint.
